"THE GREATEST SERVICE WHICH CAN BE RENDERED ANY COUNTRY IS TO ADD A USEFUL PLANT TO ITS CULTURE."

Vote Hemp

The U.S.A. Hemp Museum is proud to display the history, the present, and potential of the most famous and infamous plant in the history of the world's people, Cannabis sativa or (in English) hemp.  This is information not taught in schools, so take the responsibility to spread the word.  Bookmark the museum.  Tell your friends and relatives. Write letters and papers on the subject.  Check the links to related sites.   Buy hemp products.  Eat hemp for health.  Become an expert in your own right.  Leave us comments, so we can grow and correct and discover and learn.  The history presented here is as long as the development of people into civilizations that could endure and prosper, and for all that time hemp was present.

People of the earth are winning the freedom to plant, grow, consume, and other-wise live with hemp.  Hemp has over one million listings on the yahoo search engine.  Hemp lives!  Our poor governments can moan and groan all they want, but the prohibition against hemp is coming down.  Anyone who cares to look at the evidence presented here must come to the conclusion that big mistakes have been made in this war on hemp. Our very Constitution has suffered from the drug war.  Drug war equals prohibition equals Constitutional Amendment, and not doing it right has made a mess of  Constitutional law.

If we had the freedom to grow hemp, we would not be at war with Iraq.  We would not be lagging behind the rest of the world on reducing greenhouse gasses, our energy money would stay home with our farmers, and we could prosper without being in everyone else's backyard.  In a free country we would be free to follow that path.  I've got lots to say so visit often and check with my Hemp For Victory Now blog.

The Hemp Museum is organized into rooms covering some aspect of hemp.  The home page/ directory of rooms can be reached by the home hyperlink at the top and bottom of each room and at the top of each sub-room.  Each room has a room guide to get you around the room.  Items not hyperlinked in the room guide are located below in the main room (scroll down).  From a sub-room you can return to the main room from the top and bottom of each sub-room.

This is just a beginning.  The museum contains more than 1,700 picture files (some duplicates), all of which have been compressed for download speed.  Still to view some rooms patience is required.  Think of yourself in a Hemp Museum with many rooms and lots of things to see and learn.  Our first video is up in the Hemp Medical and Health Room

The hemp story began long before recorded history, so we have to assume that the relationship with people started with food.  Hemp seed could be stored for lean times, was healthy and tasty.  In fact the whole plant is edible.

Hot Hemp Foods on Today Show

Samples of cloth around 9,000 years old have been discovered, and you can bet they were hemp.  The Chinese symbol for hemp is over 5,000 years old, so Chinese fabric is probably much older.  It is my hypothesis that before people ever sat on the back of a live horse there was hemp rope.  The oldest known saddle from the frozen tombs of the Siberian steppes was made of hemp.  And ropes, sails, flags, banners, clothes, fish nets, tents, tapestries, art canvas, burial cloth, oakum, paper, lamp oil, food and more define the history of people's civilization.

And hemp paper recorded much of that history, from the first true paper in China to the most basic documents of law and religion and art in much of the world, including our U.S. Constitution.

Few museums in this country even mention hemp.  So many facts have just come to light in the last dozen years from old books, from junk and antique stores, from a new way of looking at lost history, and from a vision of the potential of hemp in the future of people, that we had to have our own museum of Cannabis sativa/hemp/marijuana.

The re-legalization of Cannabis to its pre-1937, pre-prohibition status would be of enormous benefit to the world.  In this time of rapid population growth, the world needs this renewable and sustainable resource base.

Some of the history and present state of affairs regarding hemp is a sad commentary on how the truth can be corrupted in a free society, by the very institutions we hope will govern us fairly and honestly.  We feel a duty to change attitudes and laws through education and discussion.  After hearing the evidence we hope you agree.  Thanks to all who have helped in this museum endeavor over the last ten years.  A few are mentioned in the Cannabis Commendations Room, but you are too numerous to name, Thank you.
